Spiritualism is a religion based on the belief that the human spirit survives physical death.
The Cedars Spiritualist Church welcomes people from all backgrounds and cultures.
Spiritualism at the Cedars is a simple, approachable way of living. We pray to a non-denominational ‘Father/Mother God’ or ‘Great White Spirit’- Others may also connect with ‘Mother Earth’. Services are conducted in a friendly and nurturing way, and chaired by members of the Church.
We have found that many people receive great comfort and healing from our church following the death of a close friend or family member.
The Service opens with a Prayer spoken by the visiting Medium, followed by the Lord’s Prayer. A specially chosen piece of inspirational music is played to promote a spiritual link. The medium will then give their mediumship assisted by their spirit guides and helpers.
Mediums are usually able to give clear evidence of the survival of loved ones, friends and family (also pets!) – by acting as a ‘channel’ between the person receiving the message and those in spirit. Messages may simply recall a fond memory, uplift those who may be feeling low, or offer gentle guidance and encouragement. The medium will not reveal personal information in public and will not use inappropriate words/ phrases.
Mediums work in different ways – some see spirit, some hear spirit, some feel spirit and some do all Three.
