2009 Annual General Meeting

‘Goodbye’ and ‘Hello’

At the AGM this year we said ‘au revoir’ to three stalwarts of the Church Committee, having previously lost two members during the course of the year.

Earlier, Beverley found that a change in her family circumstances meant that she could not give the time to the Church that her own high standards demanded, so reluctantly stood down.

A short time later, Rami had the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to the Himalaya area, and work with the under-privileged.

We thank them both for all their hard work and commitment, and wish them well

Departures at the AGM

GRACE PUGHE

Grace first joined the committee of the Cedars in the late 1970’s, and has served as a loyal, dedicated and deeply committed member of the management team for over thirty years. She feels the time is now right to stand aside, and perhaps take things a little easier. However, she will continue to play the organ on Sundays, be a regular member of the Monday Healing Clinic team, and run her ‘Wednesday’ group – not too much easier, by the sound of it! Thank you, Grace, your wealth of experience and sound, reasoned ideas at committee meetings will be sorely missed.

DON & JOYCE GOBBETT

Don and Joyce brought a wealth of knowledge with them to the Cedars, having previously run their own Churches in Essex and Kent for many years. Joyce took over the role of 'Medium Secretary', and quickly set about making the booking system more efficient, and planning for the future, while Don became one on the stalwarts of the  Monday Healing Clinic team.

As Joyce said to me recently 'we can do many things, except stop the ink on the birth certificate fading!' so they too have decided to take a step back. They will both continue with the healing, and Joyce will still run her very popular monthly meditation evenings.
